SPECIAL OLYMPICS GA - AUGUSTA STARS
We are ramping up for the Winter Games. Winter Games Practice schedule (Games are 30 Jan – 1 Feb in Marietta, GA)
Basketball (3 on 3, Individual Skills and Team Skills: Tuesdays 6-7PM (Skills) and 7-8 (3 on 3) at Risen Church Gym ( 670 E Robinson Ave, Grovetown, GA 30813) beginning 21 Oct. Head Coach: Trish Pitts. We have 3 events: Thursday November 13th Local Skills competition; Saturday December 20th Competition in Douglasville and the Winter Games
Bowling: Mondays 6:30 – UTC (3 games) at Bowlero Augusta (3067 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA 30907) beginning 27 Oct.

WHO ARE THE AUGUSTA STARS?

Created in 1995

Majority of athletes are age 22 or older, but our youth program is growing

There is no maximum age limitation for participation in Special Olympics; The minimum age requirement for participation in Special Olympics Georgia competition is 8 years of age

Currently we have over 100 athletes and 30 assistant coaches/unified partners

Compete year round

Approximately 85% of our registered athletes compete in at least one state competition per year

Our Story
The Augusta Stars were established in 1995 and this year marks the 30th year with over 50 athletes consistantly training and competing year-round. Additionally, the Augusta Stars touches another 50 athletes who participate when they can.
